The Great Manitoba Food Fight (GMFF) competition is an exciting one-day event that will take place on Thursday, April 22nd in the Pioneer Lounge of the Keystone Centre. It is an innovative opportunity for food entrepreneurs throughout Manitoba to help bring their food products to market. The entry fee is only $50, and provides entrants with the opportunity to compete for three major prize packages. First, second, and third place finalists will receive awards valued at $15,000, $10,000, or $5,000, respectively.
Competitors will “pitch” their product ideas and provide a product sample to a panel of judges. Three finalists will be selected and invited to attend the Capturing Opportunities Hydro Celebration Banquet which will be held in the evening on April 22nd. During the banquet, finalists will find out how they placed and receive their awards. Each finalist will also receive a complimentary membership to the Manitoba Food Processors Association.
A few things you need to know when entering this competition:
- Presentations to the panel of judges are “oral”, no computer presentations allowed.
- You will be required to complete a questionnaire providing detailed information about your food product.
- GMFF prize packages must be used towards eligible expenses needed to bring the winning products to market, including:

NOTE: Commercialization activities for winning products must commence within one year of the competition.
