Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 Great Manitoba Food Fight!

Three winners were chosen from an innovative and dynamic group of competitors.  The contestants were placed into three groups based on the stage of food product development, with a winner declared in each category.  The winner of each category received a prize package worth $10,000 in food commercialization services including a one year membership to the Manitoba Food Processors Association.

Ideation Category – food product is currently not for sale in any market, only made for family and friends.  Winner: Guiseppe Palumbo from Winnipeg, Manitoba won with the “Edible Cup”

Early Innovator – food product currently sold at farmer’s markets, trade and craft shows or from the facility where it is produced. Winner: Christina Laham Paganelli from Stonewall, Manitoba with “Super Green Smoothie”

Innovation in Action – food product currently sold at the retail level outside where it is produced.  Winner: Ernie McIvor from Winnipeg, Manitoba with “TO Bevys”

Capturing Opportunities would like to congratulate the winners and all competitors in the 2008 Great Manitoba Food Fight. This event provides Manitoba food entrepreneurs with a unique and innovative opportunity to promote and commercialize their food products.
