Capturing Opportunities includes the following events:
 All events are held at the Keystone Centre, 18th Street, Brandon, MB,
 
1.  Capturing Opportunities Conference, April 22nd and 23rd featuring a great line-up of renowned speakers and workshops.
2.  Youth Events, April 22nd and 23rd - our young business leaders of tomorrow from schools all across Manitoba can take part in these events. 
  • Junior Achievement Entrepreneur Elimination (winners presented at the Celebration Banquet)
  • Student Business Plan Competition 
  • Manitoba Research Institute Young Entrepreneurs Challenge (winners presented at the Celebration Banquet)

3.  Great Manitoba Food Fight, (9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Thursday, April 22 Pioneer Lounge)  - The popular "Food Fight" provides an opportunity for food entrepreneurs throughout Manitoba to present their food products to a panel of judges and compete for recognition and assistance in bringing their products to market.  The public is invited to watch the Food Fight competion at no cost.  

4.  Capturing Opportunities Boot Camp - hone your business skills!  Entrepreneurs refine their pitch to potential investors, customers and lenders, working with local Westman business professionals.  A panel of judges will award up to $2000 for the best pitch.

5.   Hydro Celebration Banquet (UCT Pavilion, Doors open at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 22) - this banquet has become a tradition at Capturing Opportunities to help celebrate local food as well as the achievments of rural youth, community volunteers, organizations and business.  Included is keynote speaker, Chad Hughes, an inspiring and successful entrepreneur from rural Manitoba.

6.  Bob Johansen Leadership Workshop - a workshop for leaders and the 10 critical skills required today and beyond (not included in conference registration - see schedule for registration details)

7.  Economic Developers Association of Manitoba Spring Forum (Salon A, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 21st) - training is included in conference registration fees for EDAM members.  Non EDAM members cost is $125.  Training offered - Business Retention and Expansion (Gerald Cathcart) and Regional Economic Development training with Brock Dickinson (trainer with Economic Developers Association of Canada)

8. Thursday Morning Networking Breakfast (UCT Pavilion, 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. Thursday, April 22)
